Review: L'Oréal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer mascara

Y'all know how much I love the Trish McEvoy fiber mascaras. They are probably my absolute favorite mascaras ever. When I saw the L'Oréal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer mascara, I was hoping it would be my drugstore dupe.

Nope.

The brush isn't horrible. It's very scratchy on the skin in between the lashes, which I actually kind of like. However, it is a bit big and hard to work with, so I ended up getting some product on the upper lid and under the eye. The brush doesn't really separate the lashes all that well either, and you'll have a few lashes that are kind of swept up together.

One coat both eyes
The actual look of the mascara isn't horrible. It gives some length, and the curl it gives is amazing (like you could throw out your eyelash curler).

After tearing up a bit. It smudges a lot. Black fiber goop got ALL up in my eyes.
However, my problem with this is how much it smudges and taking it off. It smudges like a b****, as you can see, but upon taking it off, I got a little bit in my eyes and this stung really really badly. I had goopy black threads coming out of my eyes, and eventually I just had to stick my fingers in there and pull them out.

Smudging in the middle of the day.
I was really hoping this would be like the Trish mascara that doesn't smudge at all and at the end of the day just rinses off with water in cool little tubes, but this was no different from a regular smudgy mascara. I was so disappointed, and I've already returned this.

Waste of time, waste of money.

To its credit though, it does have beautiful packaging.
