Neon Hitch's "Eleutheromaniac" - Song Review

When she's not unexpectedly dropping an entire EP, recorded in only 24 hours (listen to 24:00), gypsy pop princess and "Fuck U Betta" songstress Neon Hitch is hard at work getting her official debut album, Eleutheromaniac, out to her eager fans, despite numerous trials and setbacks.

Following her departure from Warner Bros. Records, Hitch has graciously embodied the true definition of an independent artist, embarking on a successful tour and releasing polished supporting music videos for inspiring and fun tunes. "Yard Sale", "Freedom", "Some Like It Hot"... just to name a few.

Her recent offering, the title track off her upcoming album, is another solid effort from the talented artist. "Eleutheromaniac"... being mad for freedom... is carried by an uplifting message where Hitch sings for her fans to become leaders, not just followers. While staying true to her original and signature sound and style, the artist has found a way to give her words a mainstream appeal with captivating production and a delicate vocal performance.

The artist admits to never attending school or church, but that does not mean she is not a believer. A believer in life and freedom. "Eleutheromaniac, that’s what we are, no way that we’re turning back, lemme hear ya say I, I’m livin my life, and I know what I’m doing is right," Hitch lovingly sings on her new track's chorus.

Initially released directly to fans' email in response to the problems she is currently facing dealing with the release of a music video in support of previous single "Sparks", the new "Eleutheromaniac" keeps the momentum moving in a positive direction for Hitch and her debut album. The music is unique, something different than the current radio-tailored dance craze, and the title track sums up overall message of Neon Hitch perfectly. Beautiful.
